What single cup coffee maker is better all the round?

I'm looking for a reliable single cup coffee maker that makes good coffee and the pods/cups will be easy to find.and not over a 100 bux.

my father has a gevalia single cup coffee maker...he seems to love it..and i doubt it's over 100 dollars.

Coffee is a common beverage that many people consider a daily staple. It helps to start their day or round out their night. Enjoying a good cup of coffee can be relaxing, stimulating, rejuvenating and simply delicious. Stainless Steel coffee pots?

Hi All, This is one for the coffee fanatics here. Do stainless steel coffee pots add a flavor to the coffee? I've used an SS vacuum coffee mug once or twice and found that it seems to add a tang to the coffee that's in it. The reason I'm asking is that I'm considering buying a Bodum French Press in either stainless or glass. Anybody got an opinion?

Whenever you buy a SS coffee brewer, it's recommended to make a waste brew. This will place a coating on the SS container to protect the flavor of the next batch. To clean the container, just rinse with warm water & wipe with a cloth or paper towel. I bought a SS Moka pot and the directions included with it actually told you to do this. It is even more important on aluminum models as they affect the flavor more than SS versions. Plus it protects the aluminum from corrosion.

Making a dead/waste brew is the only time I'll ever use preground coffee, if I have any around.

Every now and then you'll have to properly wash the pot. Just make a new waste batch to prime the pot after it's clean.

It's kind of like curing cast iron pots before you use them.

All-in-one coffee (or espresso) makers?

At the university i go to there is a wolfgang puck vending machine that can serve about 10 different kinds of hot coffee related drinks, it asks you how much sugar how much creamer and how strong you want your coffee to be. i really want to get a coffee maker like this!! Ive done some research but i cant seem to find any all in one coffee machines that put sugar in your coffee for you, other than that they seem to have all the same functions.

Considering the cost for the machine putting sugar in my coffee I think I would consider a almost-all-in-one type machine. I have a Capresso by Jura. I like it a lot. I can do cappuccino, latte, espresso, and tea. Since it does hot water I can make hot cocoa for the kids too.

Every new invention has to bear risk and this espresso coffee maker was not an exception. It had a tendency to blow from time to time and sometimes it burned the coffee too.

The initial espresso coffee makers weren’t so easy to use. Operating them required some degree of skill and it left plenty of room for diversity. The intensity of the heat & the length of time were controlled by the operator and the water valve remained open. The coffee users could put in less coffee grounds & obtain strong coffee or use more water & get a diluted one.

Further records credit Luigi Bezzera, a manufacturer, with the invention of Espresso in 1903. Bezzera wanted to make coffee faster, so he added more pressure due to which ‘Voila’ the Fast Coffee Machine was born. This machine made coffee faster and better than any other machine. The machine invented by Bezzera used the force of steam to push water through a fixed filter containing coffee.

Even though Bezzera was skilled in inventing, he was lacking in the marketing talent to promote his creation. In 1905, Desidero Pavoni purchased the rights of the espresso machine and the product was successfully marketed, changing the way everyone drank coffee. The coffee makers were sold throughout Europe by Pavoni.

Franceso Illy created the first automatic espresso coffee maker. In 1935, Illeta invented the coffee maker and used compressed air instead of steam for his machine. The problem of exploding espresso coffee makers was solved by this machine & gave a more stable result.

The espresso coffee maker invented by Achille's Gaggia bears his name in 1945. The lever action was included in his invention and even today we can get the modern versions of both Illeta and Gaggia espresso coffee makers. An electric rotating pump was created by Ernest Valente in 1950. The pump allowed a continuous, even flow of water through the coffee maker.

In 1970’s, Illy went on to simplify the espresso coffee maker process, when he introduced a machine that combined the best parts of previous espresso coffee maker methods. His machine used double filters, which costs less than other coffee makers and was simple to use.

Super automatic espresso coffee makers were born in the 70's. Now they are the standard coffee makers in many countries. The machines continue to evolve. The debate over which methods and which machines produce the best espresso will be going on as long as people continue to enjoy their cup of Joe.

What is stopping my stove top espresso maker from making coffee?

I recently bought a second hand stove top espresso maker but it doesn't work. Whenever I try to make a pot, only about 1/4 of the water is forced through the coffee - I end up with lots of hot water in the bottom and only a little coffee in the top section. I've replaced the rubber ring and always run it full of water so it's not those things. Help please!

Make sure that you are using the proper ground of coffee. It should be a little coarser than you would use for an espresso machine. If the grounds are too fine, the water won't be able to pass through. You want it to be finer than for a drip machine though. Also, don't pack the grounds. They should just be lightly placed in. If you pack them, again the water will not be able to move through. Also make sure that the temperature of the stove is high enough. It took me up to 5 attempts before I got the real hang of my moka pot.
