I am a coffee lover, and I have tried everything I can think of to make a decent cup at home, with no luck. My coffee always turns out yucky. What am I doing wrong? Any good coffee making tips out there?

you gotta have the equipments and the right ingredients. There's a lot of types of coffee, what exactly do you want to make? If it's just regular coffee and you have a coffee maker just buy ground coffee beans at your favorite coffee shop or wherever you'll find good coffee. If you're not satisfied with the coffee maker coffee, i suggest you buy a French Press. It makes coffee that's more flavorful and it's very easy to use, doesn't need coffee filter or electricity.
If you're more interested in making flavored coffee like in starbucks, you're gonna need an espresso machine and learn how to steam milk properly.

How can I make chocolate covered coffee beans at home?

Can I use the coffee beans straight from the grocery store? Or do I need to do anything to them before I cover them in chocolate?

I think it would be difficult to do at home. Chocolate covered coffee beans are made in a "panner" It looks like an old style cement mixer.

You put the coffee beans in and they rotate in the drum. Then you ladled chocolate over them with a fan blowing to cool the chocolate. They you do another layer and so on until you reach the the thickness you want.

You might try dipping them multiple times. But without a fan blowing the melted chocolate on the first layer may just come off.

Also you would need a dark roast bean as medium roast are hard to bite. Most commercial chocolate covered beans use peaberry beans. Without a long explanation suffice it to say they are smaller and almost round.

Keurig B60 Single-Cup Brewer? Coffee seems watery and machine stays fairly hot....?

We just bought this yesterday. It seems like the coffee is a bit watered down. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, I left the machine on, as stated in the manual, and even after an hour it felt fairly hot. Is this normal?

I had to use 2 pods this morning to make my coffee not seem so watery. One I did on the 10oz size and the other on the 4 oz size. Seems like a waste of pods....

Keurig B60 Single-Cup Brewer . . . yep, this particular brand is a lemon. And if you like a full-flavored cup of coffee, the pod brewers are never going to do it for you. A good burr-grinder for the beans, and a good V-filter drip model is the best combo for a great cup of coffee.

The earliest method of grinding coffee involved placing it in a bowl and using the blunt end of a stick to crush it along the sides and bottom of the bowl. This process was time consuming and messy. It was also a lot of hard work! Others without much patience simply smashed the coffee with a hammer.

These methods were replaced by a mechanical grinder. This became popular because most people already used a mechanical grinder for their spices. The coffee was placed between two disks. One stationary, the other a moving disc. The moving of the disks resulted in grinding. This process is also known as milling. The milling style coffee grinder is available in many colors with many features. The price varies on the brand and the features you choose. Generally they are between $50 and $200.

Coffee grinders began being used commercially in the 1800Â’s. This was helpful for events with large groups of people who wanted coffee such as Church gatherings or fairs. Coffee grinders were also used commercially in the coffee houses that seemed to be sprouting up on every corner in town. These grinders were adjustable to make the size of the coffee whatever you wanted. The grinding blades could be brought closer together or further apart by tightening or loosening a screw. The innovation of the wall mount happened around this time to. While is seems like a small thing, the grinder no longer had to be held in your hand while you ground it.

Information was discovered about coffee during this milling process. The more friction that took place while grinding, the hotter the coffee bean would get. This changed the flavor of the coffee. If the ground coffee was uniform in size, brewing was easier. The finder the grind, the more flavor the coffee had. To make all this happen, grinding coffee by hand was replaced by a machine doing the work with the machine controlled by a person. This allowed the distributor to process the coffee it sold the same way every time.

This machine process led to big coffee plants producing large amounts of coffee. It was the beginning of tin cans of coffee being marketed. Ironically, the machines that were invented to make the coffee all taste the same began to change. This is because now the demand began for coffee that tasted different! People wanted a variety to choose from.

Some people still like to grind their own coffee. They know just how to make it to their liking. Most of us prefer to purchase our coffee already ground. What is the best brand for espresso coffee beans?

I am a former chef from Canada, and I would recommend a good Italian brand, I like Gioia, Ranndanza, Medila D`Oro.

But if you have a good Italian imported food store in town, buy a few smaller packages, store them in the freezer to prevent them from going rancid, I grind mine for each pot, I have a stove top 6 cup one, and judge the flavour yourself, for machines the same, you will see a different level of "Crema"the foaming on the top, some a roasted more and have a more fuller flavour, this is something you have to judge for yourself.

I'd like to know how you prepared it.

Its hard to tell whether that is a 12 or 10 cup coffee maker. What I would say is try three heaping tablespoons per pot of coffee, and then if it is too weak, add another tablespoon, if too strong, reduce by a tablespoon. Within two to three pots you will get the amount right to your liking. It takes a little experimentation. I use three heaping tablespoons per 12 cup pot. I like my coffee strong, so you may have to adjust it to your taste level.

The strength of the coffee will depend on what brand you buy and whether you start with coffee beans and grind them (like I do) or you buy the crappy canned stuff. I hate canned coffee, it is the worst coffee in the world! So I use fresh roasted french roast beans myself. Quality of bean and strength will also affect it.

whats the difference between a coffee maker and a expresso machine?

Espresso machine makes little bits of coffee, and has a steamer spout for the milk to be frothed, you can make "Espresso" (Just coffee beans darker roasted) in a regular coffee maker, you just can't steam the milk for "Cappuccino" (Espresso coffee with steamed milk on top of it)
