f coffee makers that now, homeowners have the option to either have a built in coffee maker as part of their new home's construction, or they can have them installed into existing homes and made to look part of the built in appliances.

Why A Built In Coffee Maker

There's nothing worse than having clutter on a bench top. A built in coffee maker is basically out of the way; almost inconspicuous and aside from their ability to deliver great tasting coffee quickly, they add a nice touch to the decor.

Let's face it, a built in coffee maker won't be cheap. Depending on what model you want installed, their cost can run into thousands. It's a luxury item at the moment, there is no doubt about it but for convenience factor, they are hard to beat. Such is the set up that machines are connected to the home's water supply so adding water becomes less of a chore.

Cutting Down On Costs

For those who want to cut costs or who don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a coffee maker, they could opt for less expensive models that will fit into the wall or attach to the underside of a kitchen cabinet. Do a little homework as when I did a search for built in coffee makers plumbed into the home's water supply I found several offers of around $500 which is extremely affordable.

There are several units which are simply boxes cut into the wall into which a coffee maker is placed. It is a little more cumbersome with wire extending out the front to be plugged in while the entire unit is removed to add water and grounds.

The unit is then placed back into the wall for brewing. Several other built in coffee makers are designed to be suspended from a bracket attached to the top of a conventional coffee maker to keep it raised above the surface.

It's Your Decision: Are You Tempted?

There is no doubt the extra advantages of the more expensive built in models are tempting. This is more so during the construction phase of a house and can be added into the overall cost by builders. Features such as a self-filling ability and adding just the right amount of water after each brewing are enticing aspects of a built in coffee maker.

All the user need do is add fresh grounds and switch it on. These set ups not only free up an outlet in your kitchen, since they are wired directly into the house, but in most cases, they also have plug outlets built into them, giving you more outlets than were originally available.

In the end, the decision is whether you want to go the extra cost for convenience factor and a little bit of luxury or whether you are happy with the conventional coffee maker set up.
